In Subway Surfers, a game originally co-developed by Kiloo and SYBO Games, players assume the role of young graffiti artists who infiltrate a metro railway yard, and upon being caught takeoff unto the railroad tracks to escape capture. Since its start, derivatives of the game have been released including an MMO version. 

Subway Surfers starts where Jake (the game's starter character) or any other character sprays graffiti upon subway property, and then gets caught in the act by the inspector and his dog, who starts chasing the character. While on the run the player can swipe up, down, left, or right to maneuver and avoid crashing into oncoming obstacles especially moving subway trains, poles, tunnel walls, and barriers. Swiping rapidly and accurately with increased game tempo accumulates more points. A crash or capture results in a game over, though it is possible for a player to continue running.

Accumulated scoring totals are achieved when the graffiti artists, while on the run, snatch gold coins, power-ups, and other items along the way as they avoid collisions with incoming trains and other rail yard objects. They can also jump on top of the trains and surf with hoverboards to evade capture.

Currently, in the game’s evolution, you can invite friends who play the game from your Game Center account (For iOS only) or from your Facebook.png account. After inviting them, they will be sent into your leaderboard and will be listed by a high score in descending order.

In case you are wondering how popular Subway Surfers is for MMO play, the original Subway Surfers, developed by Danish studio Sybo Games, has surpassed over 2.5 billion downloads since 2012. Integrated with the multiplayer mode is a quick play solo mode. Subway Surfers was nominated for "Action Game" and "Family & Kids Game" at the 2019 Webby Awards. It was the most downloaded mobile game of the decade.
