The popular online multiplayer game, Among Us, developed and published by game studio Innersloth, has been around since June 2018 on Android and IOS devices.

In gameplay which takes place in a space-themed setting in which players each take on one of two roles – most being Crewmates, and a predetermined number being Impostors (alien invaders) – the goal of the Crewmates is to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around a designated map. The Impostors' goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks.

Across many different countries, but notably Mexico, Brazil, South Korea and the United States, Among Us received a massive influx of popularity in 2020 due to many well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers playing it. Underlying the adoption of the multi-player game during this period is the notion that the COVID-19 pandemic was the main driver for the surge in popularity of Among Us as it allowed for socializing of some type despite lockdowns and strict social distancing mandates.

One of the more interesting aspects of Among Us, due to its popularity, is that it has spawned so many internet memes, meme generators, game derivatives, and themed videos referring to its possible outcome, altered perspectives, and gameplay. 360 VR videos have been among the most attention captivating, including the ones included on this page.
