9 Chickweed Lane is a traditional newspaper-style comic strip written and illustrated by Brooke McEldowney chronicling the story of a young woman who moves away from home to perform with a prestigious metropolitan ballet company in New York City. It had its beginnings as a gag-a-day comic strip about three generations of women in the Burber family. It then turned into a platform for the creator to express views on culture, politics, religion, and gender relations.
