Servers Borked NA
submitted by /u/Zestyclose_Pickle511 to r/BattlefieldV [link] [comments]
Tried 2 different servers. Did not try out of region servers. In-game chat confirmed it was happening to many people, if not whole server. Just a black loading screen and the BFV "working" icon spinning top right.
They really are ruthless trying to get us to play BF 6 🤣 Seriously though, I played it last night. It's not horrible on closed weapons attack / defend after the match fills with real people. Usually happens pretty fast after match start if one hasnt spun up already.
Edit: Hopefully they are fixing 2 issues, or at least one. 1) massive hitching that makes the game pause for a cpl seconds randomly, related to Javelin AC. and 2) they're maybe fixing the chat bug, which is actually a username filter bug.... People havent been able to use chat, some of us for a few months, because the filter thinks there's something wrong with our benign usernames. I asked 3 LLM chatbots to try and find an issue with mine and none of them could come up with anything. Not even in a foreign language. The filter (prob some ai nonsense involved) is problematic.
... but I doubt it.

Patch 1.2.2.0 Movement Update – Side Strafing Speed Increased. Side Sliding Is Back.
submitted by /u/rottensid to r/Battlefield [link] [comments]
Typo in the title; it's for patch 1.2.3.0.
In classic DICE fashion, the patch note only had a vague description of how things have changed, so players have to find out the change through testing.
The official note states:
- Soldier acceleration curves have been slightly adjusted to better support 30Hz experiences, improving responsiveness in the opening moments of movement.
What does that even mean.
Anyway, DICE slowed side strafing speed back in patch 1.2.1.0 (Feb 17) which also disabled side sliding. Two months after the change, they are now back.
Edit: Just noticed one more serious change. You now can slide from walking forward. Previously you had to sprint forward first before sliding. Now you can walk forward -> Jump -> Slide. See the clip below..

This may have more impact on the gameplay than I thought. Previously, because you had to sprint to initiate sliding, defender could hear the footstep and prepare for storming. Now you can slide jump surprise without telegraphing footstep.
Which make me believe this is not an intended change. They probably increased overall movement speed for bigger map that's coming, but forgot to adjust sliding initiation speed. Come on DICE...
Edit2: Aside from balancing concern, the game feels amazing.
Edit3: Now I notice that you can perform jump slide to any direction without sprinting. You can now walk to direction -> Jump -> Slide. Even backward.
Edit4: It seems people misunderstand this mechanic and claim it was possible to do before today's patch.
No. It was not possible. Between 1.2.1 - 1.2.2 (Feb 2026 - Today) strafing speed was simply not fast enough to start the sliding. You could MIMIC side sliding by Sprinting Forward -> Jump Immediately -> Directional Input -> Slide but it's not the same thing.
See the clip below. This is how you could mimic side sliding between 1.2.1 - 1.2.2;

For those you cry this is miniscule change - I freaking know? Nonetheless it's a change and I'm documenting it so that when there's another update, we can compare.
