  1. Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is being updated to Android 12-based One Ui 4.1, according to a report. The update is currently rolling out in Hong Kong and Germany, and could roll out to other regions in the future. The tablet was launched last year, running One UI 3.1 built on top of Android 11, alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
  2. Apple’s decision to postpone the release of iPadOS 16 by a month after iOS 16 makes its debut may be a problem for users as they may not have a seamless app experience across their iPhone and iPad models. Developers may also have to release uncooked versions of their apps or not release them until the iPadOS 16 is released.
  3. Apple has asked suppliers to ensure that shipments from Taiwan to comply with China’s customs regulations to avoid them from being held for scrutiny, according to a report. The instructions come amid ongoing Sino-US trade tensions and Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.
  4. Realme has launched the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo, Realme Watch 3, and Realme Pad X in India. The TWS earphones and smartwatch compete in the already crowded market, but Realme Pad X goes directly against Xiaomi. We discuss the features of these devices with Roydon Cerejo and Ali Pardiwala.
  5. Nancy Pelosi's recent trip to Taiwan also included her meeting with Mark Lui, chairman of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (TSMC). It comes as no surprise that the US is interested in Taiwan’s autonomy in the semiconductor market as it helps the US to resist China’s effort to develop advanced chips.
  6. Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC) announced new memory chip technology with 232 layers of memory cells to catch up with rivals Micron and SK Hynix. The development comes amid US’ efforts to curb Chinese semiconductor companies. An earlier report stated that Apple was considering using YMTC as a memory chip supplier.
  7. Apple is said to delay its iPadOS 16 software update by about a month, with the tablet operating system likely to launch in October. Over the past years major iPad and iPhone software updates have been released at the same time in September. While iOS 16 is expected to launch during the usual period, iPadOS 16 could arrive in October.
  8. Apple is introducing a password-less login scheme called Passkeys with iOS 16, macOS Ventura and iPadOS 16. They use iCloud Keychain public key credentials and rely on biometric identification for signing in to websites or apps. Passkeys are end‑to‑end encrypted and sync across Apple devices.
  9. Redmi 22081283G has been listed on US FCC database. It could be the Redmi Pad 6 or Xiaomi Pad 6, according to a tipster. The tablet was listed with dual-band Wi-Fi support and a 7,800mAh battery with the model number BN81. It could run on the MIUI 13 skin, as per the listing.
  10. Kickstarter Early Deals are now live with offers and deals on smartphones, wearables such as smartwatches and fitness bands, audio products, tablets, and laptops. It is a part of the Amazon Great Freedom Festival 2022 Sale scheduled to take place from August 6 to August 10.
