Thanks Ubisoft for adding guaranteed assassination to shadows
submitted by /u/binogamer21 to r/assassinscreed [link] [comments]
I never really use accessibility options in games but i think this one really improved my time with shadows.
I always hated how for most of my odyssey playthrough i couldnât one kill enemies making me enter combat and alerting the whole enemy camp.
For me adding it back in valhalla and mirage improved the game greatly as i could again go full stealth.
Having the chance to assassinate enemies in shadows while having stealth difficulty one max is amazing as stealth is rewarded but difficult enough you cannot just bulldoze your way and making entering combat a death sentence. It also helps turn naoe in a more classic protagonist for those like me that perfer them instead of the rpg.
Nice one Ubisoft having this layered approach to difficulty setting.

Itâs becoming increasingly clear that AC Origins was the game Ubisoft tried the most with

After Shadows dropped I got the urge to place the RPG trilogy, and starting with Valhalla, Odyssey, and then Origins. Iâm not going to lie, you can tell the increase in quality as youâre going backwards in this order. Itâs as if the release dates were in reverse.
Now we can all have our favorites, and I know a lot of people really like Odyssey especially. But if you just spent time in Origins properly, and not rushing through it, you would see the immense amount of little details the Ubisoft put into every little animation, effect, dynamic events, NPC schedules and ambiance. You can tell they really tried with this game, but the quality has definitely dropped off after, even if the gameplay improved.

AC: Shadows Real Life Locations Compilation
submitted by /u/arisu-chan to r/assassinscreed [link] [comments]
In case anyone is a huge nerd like me, I've made a compilation map of 300+ in-game locations for which I believe I've found the real life counterparts. Overall, the map designers did an amazing job and nearly everything is exactly where you would expect it to be. The mountainous regions in present-day Central Kyoto and Northern Wakayama/Southern Nara Prefectures have been condensed for understandable reasons. You'll notice that the in-game location of some temples is different than in real life because they reflect where they would have been situated during the game's time period.
I don't speak Japanese, so I did the best I could given many locations in Google Maps are in Japanese only. I plan to visit Japan this fall and take comparative pictures of some of these locations like I did a few years ago with AC: Odyssey!

Something I think most people missed about AC Shadows
submitted by /u/-elemental to r/assassinscreed [link] [comments]
Iâve seen too many people (reviewers among them) saying the camera in the game is wonky, that it doesnât keep up with what the player wants or needs, etc.
Theyâre not necessarily wrong (everyoneâs entitled to their opinions), but I think some people didnât understand that âthe camera is trying to only let the player see what the characters can seeâ.
Whenever you go prone on one side of a roof, the camera doesnât let you look at the other side because Naoe/Yasuke wouldnât be able to. Same thing happens if you hold on the edge of a wall, itâs tricky to find an angle to peek at whatâs on the other side.
Itâs really hard to look at some angles while leaning near doors because the characters also wouldnât see whatâs on the other side.
This behavior is very consistent, when leaning against boxes, corners, crawling below buildings, etc. The camera usually gets closer and restricts some angles, but âitâs not a bug, itâs a featureâ.
The devs probably understood that information is KEY in a stealth game and players usually abuse camera angles in 3rd person to see what they âshouldnâtâ.
Now I understand that this might not be a good enough reason to restrict camera freedom for some people. I personally think itâs an interesting take that has its merits, so I adapted my gameplay to account for that.
