30 hours in , shadows has the best gameplay out of the 4 rpg games

A lot of the bloat from Valhalla is gone. Combat is actually pretty fun with different weapons. Loot system form odyssey is back. And the level gated progression throughout the regions feels much more natural and rewarding. Movement and animations are also huge step up from previous titles. Game actually feels good to control and move around. Overall very satisfied with the game. Negatives so far are the story and narrative. Everything feels out of place and events happen in random. The overall plot premise is also generic and boring.

submitted by /u/DoughnutBoring3586 to r/Assassins_creed [link] [comments]
I'm playing Assassin's Creed 1 right now and I have the problem that my screen freezes for a few seconds every few minutes. And if I attack and getting countered and fall to the ground, I teleport myself or the opponent (if I counter him) by half the map. I am then either teleported under the ground and die or ported so far away from the destination that I have to start again. Can someone please help me

I have a new appreciation for the RPG era of games.
submitted by /u/Maple905 to r/assassinscreed [link] [comments]
Assassin's Creed was once my favorite game series of all time, but I am one of those people that fell out of love with the franchise when they changed the series identity with the RPG era of games. I didn't like the new direction and the games, to me, stopped feeling like Assassin's Creed. I felt like they were just trying to copy The Witcher 3 and I became bitter because I wanted to play AC, and if I wanted to play the Witcher I would just do that. So over the last 8 years my relationship with the series has been complicated (not helped by the controversies surrounding Ubisoft as a company).
So, a while ago I was feeling nostalgic for what was once my favorite series and I decided to replay every AC game, even giving the RPG games a chance when I got to them. I enjoyed the older games and it was like returning home again. I was never the biggest fan of Unity and Syndicate, but I had found an appreciation of them as AC games. This time around I actually really enjoyed them. Unity did feel like it overstayed it's welcome though, but Syndicate I actually really enjoyed, which surprised me. All in all, my experience with what I considered to be "True Assassin's Creed" games was basically just as I remembered and I had fun.
However, the shadow of the RPG era grew ever larger with each game I completed. Finally, I got to Origins, and while it might be the RPG era game I had the least problem with, I find myself enjoying it more than I did the first time. Rather than playing these games like an "Assassin's Creed" game, I decided to play them more like the RPGs that they are. This, as well as being older, has really opened my eyes to how unfairly I judged them.
The real test will be Odyssey, as that is the game I really hated. But hopefully with this new outlook, I'll find enjoyment in it.
TLDR: Old man who used to yell at clouds finally decided to give clouds a fair chance and finds he might enjoy them.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is great, but I miss the variety of Valhalla’s systems and side activities
submitted by /u/lordLucas4_ to r/assassinscreed [link] [comments]
I’ve been playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows for a while now, and let me start by saying this: it’s a good game. The atmosphere is incredible, the dual protagonist system works surprisingly well, and the return to a more stealth-driven experience is refreshing. Quebec deserves credit for delivering a polished title that feels distinct from the recent AC entries.
That said, as much as I’m enjoying it, I can’t help but feel like Shadows is missing something that Valhalla had in spades: a quantity of systems, minigames, and secondary activities that gave the world texture and variety.
In Valhalla, even if you weren’t pushing the main story, you had an abundance of side activities that made the world feel alive. I know many criticized that game for being overly long, but you really can’t attack its variety in side activities.
Settlement building and customization gave you a sense of ownership and progression outside of the main quest. Orlog was fun enough to be its own mini hobby, and gave a good break from combat. Drinking contests added humor and personality to Eivor’s journey. World events gave the feeling that the world was full of quirky, human stories. Even little touches like cairn stacking, fishing, and treasure maps contributed to the sense of variety.
There are arguably no direct equivalents of these in Shadows.
This might come down to the difference in studios. Ubisoft Quebec (who made Shadows) is, as far as I know, a smaller team compared to Ubisoft Montreal (who led Valhalla). Quebec clearly prioritized polish and focus, and to their credit, Shadows doesn’t feel bloated. But it does feel like some of those “world flavor” systems and activities didn’t make it in, and their absence is noticeable.
Edit: spacing between paragraphs.

Is it wrong to say cesare borgia is the best AC antagonist?
submitted by /u/cr0w_p03t to r/assassinscreed [link] [comments]
This guy is just so petty, so egotistical, so cartoonishly evil.
He is a villain I LOVE to hate, He gives me a much better feeling than any other main antagonist.
He has more than just good vibes, he has actual presence, you see the shit he does more than the things other antagonists do.
