  • How do you feel about this way of choosing your starter Pokémon?

You don't get to see the pokemon, you just pick the pokeball

  • The actual group of each color
  • 1st Genner picking it back up for the first time since 2001

Pokemon blue on my gold Gameboy pocket is far and a way the video game I've spent the most hours playing. It was the only Nintendo anything I've ever owned until I bought a Switch and Zelda TOTK last year and it blew me away. Just got Let's Go Eevee last week.

This game is amazing for what it is. It's very faithful to the 1st gen, while making a lot of improvements. I appreciate that as an old head. I think the reason I never bought the second generation was that even when I was 9, I was already an old man about it, ready to die on that hill the the proper number of pokemon is 151.

The fact that all pokemon share XP from winning battles or catching other pokemon is a huge improvement. In gen 1, my starter pokemon was always 10 or more levels about any other pokemon. This keeps the squad balanced.

Not getting to battle wild pokemon disappointed me at first until I realized the shared XP mechanic more than makes up for it. It also shortens the time needed to catch a pokemon, and making it less frustrating to level up.

That was the most challenging part of the first gen, and when you're not even 10 years old, challenging is frustrating (still can be). I still to this day have never caught a Toros, and I've burned plenty of AAA batteries trying.

Getting some kind of poke ball as a reward for beating a trainer helps too. Pic related.

On the other hand I wish there was a "lazy mode" that didn't require a physical throwing motion to catch pokemon while using the joycons when plugged into the TV. I want to be a lazy Sunday person laying on the couch for 6 hours, not sitting up on the couch. Handheld mode seems better, but battery life is shorter.

My biggest complaint is that I can't figure out a comfortable way to use both hands with joycons in the grip or just a single joycon. Plenty of threads about that already.

My only other complaint is that this is a 7 year old game that they're still charging $60 for. But all other companies do this too. It's full price until a direct sequel comes out.

All in all, spending $60 for this game is worth the price, especially if it keeps me absolutely binge playing for 3 days, 4 times year like all the other games I own.

  • Time to take a break

Hey there! I don’t know if any better way to reach out to my friends on PoGo, so I’ll put it here.

If you’ve had me as a friend on PoGo you’ll notice I haven’t been very active lately. I’m taking a serious break now. The game is taking up too much time of my life and I have studies and work I need to finish.

If you’ve dont want to wait around I won’t be offended if you delete me.

So sorry about it, but I hope you read this and don’t get mad for no more gifts.

    Best regards, DrPepper2827945 (& LaurSpace)

  • Paldia Region Pokemon Evolutions

I recently came across these tools to calculate the CP for pokemon’s in Pokemon GO. I found these tools to be most accurate and updated with latest pokemon.

Evolution calculator gives you CP of evolutions of your pokemon and CP Calculator gives you the HP and CP of any pokemon you enter based on it’s IVs. I think both tools are useful to calculate the CP for any pokemon’s evolution.

    Check them out:

  • Looking for Mural Postcards

    977287219498

Might be strange, but just as the title says, I'm looking for people who will send artsy postcards, specifically murals! I just really love seeing art from around the world, they are the only ones i keep around in my postcard book, but the friends I have seem to moreso send church/playgrounds/shops etc.

So yeah, basically, if you have any artsy postcards in your bag, or have artsy pokestops nearby, would ya kindly add me as a friend and send a gift? Any regions welcome! I only have a handful of gifts left right now, so if I don't send one back right away, I'll send one tomorrow morning!

    edit

thanks for the overwhelming response everyone!

Gonna take me a few days to open all the beautiful postcards yous sent, but please be patient! I'll send out what I can even if I can't open yours today.

You guys added like, 100 new murals to my collection, and it was so fun waking up and seeing how many I had to open!

    Thank you thank you

  • Weird coincidence, but I'll take it

I did 2 raids cus I wasn't able to play yesterday, (2 free raid passes) and somehow both of them have the same ivs, i mean they are good and fuck yeha I'll take it, and these raids happened like 2 stops away.... Depending on the mechanics of bottle caps, this could be useful and use less
